American Airlines Plans Its Biggest Admirals Club Yet at Charlotte
American Airlines has announced a lounge of more than 40,000 square feet for Charlotte Douglas, on the mezzanine of the atrium just past security.
American Airlines announced plans on Tuesday, 6 October, for a new Admirals Club lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which travellers know by its code, CLT. At more than 40,000 square feet, it will be the largest lounge in American's system.
It will sit on the mezzanine level of the main atrium, the large hall passengers walk into right after security. The plans include shower suites, bars and seating areas, and the design draws on Charlotte's tree canopy and its textile heritage.
Charlotte is American's second-busiest hub, and the airline also plans a new Flagship Lounge there alongside the Admirals Club.
Construction on the Admirals Club is due to start before the end of 2026. No opening date has been announced for it or for the Flagship Lounge. ■
